Hey Strangers!

Where the heck have I been.
Right here.
Painting.

Mostly this stuff.
Trying to get a little collection or two together.

All of these are now in my Etsy shop.
The top ones are listed separately and the bottom ones as a set.

More later.
Hope you all are enjoying your summer so far.

Genuine

This painting is about being real.

Don't be a copy of someone else.
You won't be happy.

By being your own genuine self, you will find
yourself surrounded by people that make you happy.

I'm no expert on this.
I'm just saying what the painting is about. :)

Be Strong

This painting is about getting better everyday…
by working hard and not giving up.

Be Heard

Original cereal box art by me.

This painting is about a little girl with a big voice.

I'm more of a big girl with a little voice.

But my art can be my voice, right?

Yeah,  I'm going to go with that. :)

Her Window

This painting is about a girl about to begin the next leg of life's journey. She is a little nervous, but mostly
excited about what will happen next. After today her view will change, but her heart will remain the same.

(I've decided to start introducing new paintings like a singer would a song.)
For fun.

Girls with Heart

Sometimes I like the "work in progress" photos better than the
finished paintings.
I hope that's not the case with this girl, but I do like her
quite a lot at this point.
I'm thinking blues for this one.

She is part of a "Girls with Heart" series I am working on.
Slowly.
I like the wide-spaced eyes.  And the awkward hands.
And the hearts. :)

This was the first one:

The original is already sold, but I do have prints available,
with and without words.

Here are the sketches I have so far.
And here's me getting back to them. :)
See you soon!

Step 6:  Finish painting and detail work.

Step 7:  Make the sides pretty with paint and paper.

Step 8: Spray with gloss finish.
Photograph and scan.
List and sell!

Step 9: List not only a print,

Getting busy

I spent a bit of time last week prepping some canvases and some wood so that
I'd be able to just grab one and start painting when the spirit move me.

And I did just that.  Yesterday I made the above,
with Mother's DAy in mind.

And today, in honor of Earth Day I
painted this quickly little girl who pick the "green carpet"
over the red any day.

Both are in my shop with a few other originals that have been hanging out there for quite awhile.
If you see something you like, but the price tag is too painful, feel free to message
me on Etsy.  I'd be happy to set up a payment plan in order  to
get art to the hands of someone who really loves it.

I'll be working on a request that I've put off for far too long over the next day
or two. But after that I'll grab another canvas off the stack and get busy.
I'll meet you back her. :)

My Home Sweet Home

This patriotic angel is hanging out in my Etsy shop.

I painted her for a group of volunteers
who are going to be recognized at an upcoming military event.
I customized them and printed 53 prints!
They are on their way and I really hope they love them.

Once the original sells, I will make prints available that
you can customize as well.
Her sash and the banner at the bottom can say whatever you like.

Life is but a dream..

Just dropping in to let you know what's happening around here.
First I wanted to show my new original canvas.
"Life is but a Dream"

Here's a close-up of the little row boat floating
gently down the stream/her scarf.
Fish are a-jumping through the air beneath
the paper sun.

It's like a dream, right?
Anyway, the original is here.
I think it would be very sweet in a boy's or girl's nursery.

Or you can buy the print here.

I've also listed the above print,
Sorry the original sold before I could blog about it.

Midnight Blue - Angel T-Shirt
Midnight Blue - Angel T-Shirt by DudaDaze

I added this little "Midnight Blue" angel
to a t-shirt over at Zazzle.

And that may be about it, art wise.
Other than printing, packing, and mounting lots of prints.

In other news, Josie McQueen has gone ahead and
release their second EP, "Grody Noise".
You can go listen to all six new songs
(plus the old ones)
on soundcloud.com/josiemcqueen
You can buy a single track or the whole EP
at josiemcqueen.bandcamp.com

Either way, they just want ya'll to hear 'em.

That's it for now.
